Best Ibiza Beaches

The tourist who came to Ibiza can choose between the big fashionable beaches with crowd and noise of water sports, and the smaller coves perfect for relaxing outside of civilisation.
All of the beaches feature clean water and white sand, and after the tourist season ( which lasts from May till October ) even the most popular beaches became rather empty, but still offer plenty of possibilities of swimming and sunbathing.

The most attractive place in Ibiza is its capital Ibiza Town ( Ciutat Eivissa ) and so we start our guide form there.
Near the town there is Figueretas with long chain of small hostels and hotels, some of them with own swimming pools.
The next beach on the schore is also the longest beach in Ibiza – Platja d’En Bossa.
Two most popular beaches Ses Salines and Es Cavallet can easy be reached from the town by the local bus.
Platja de ses Salines
got its name from nearby saline fields, where the salt has been obtained from evaporation of sea water for centuries.
The beach beside the sun,sand and sea offers everything needed for excellent vacations surf boards, water ski, kayaks, and also small shops and chiringuitos – the beach bars, including the most fashionable here chiringuito Malibu.
Platja Es Cavalet is the most popular nudist beach in Ibiza, with the extravagant last part favourited by gays, the beach offers similar facilities like Ses Salines.
On the opposite side of the Town there is located another beach in Talamanca, nice with clean sand, sometimes however the water brings some algas from the nearby port.

On the Nothern side of Ibiza there is located popular town Portinatix and the nicest Ibiza’s bay – Cala Portinatix with cliff shore protecting from the winds four beaches Sa Torre, S’Arenal Petit, S’Arenal Gran and Es Port.

Near Portinatix there are two nice coves not frequented often by tourists, as it takes some effort to follow the narrow path to Cala Xarraca, and Cala Xuclar with clean water ideal for scuba diving.

The Western shore between Santa Eulalia and Es Canar features numerous small coves with the clean sand, and the visitors came here especially to find the ’spirit of freedom’ from 1960’s
and meet the small local hippie community selling their psychodelic works on the famous hippie market in Es Canar.

4 km south of Santa Eulalia there is the small beach Cala Llonga suitable especially for families with children, and in the neibourhood tourist will enjoy a horse ride, tennis match or the golf course .

San Antonio features several beaches along thee shore of San Antonio Bay, but the most popular in this part of the island are Cala Conta and Cala Bassa, some 10 km from San Antonio, accessable by the local bus from the town, or frequent boats.
The rocky surface near Cala Vadella goes from the beach under the water, as the rocks give the shelter to the various forms of sea life, the area is popular for scuba diving, the sandy beach here is often a bit crowded, and more silence one can find in nearby beaches Cala Moli and Cala Tarida.
